About:
The application, written in VBA or Python can request data from a website from which data needs to be scraped (let's say a weather service or google maps) and can extract data from the website into Excel.
Examples:
(1) Commercial Product Prices scraper from 13 German Websites:
** In the pics attached one can clearly see the names of all the requisite brand of products 'JET' from a German website www.wmv24.de along with their prices and website links attached
** If one wants the latest prices of all the products one just needs to push the button to get all prices with latest links
(2) In the pictures I have attached, one can clearly see, in the selected excel worksheet, the Balance Sheet of P&G Inc scraped from sec.gov:
** The information scraped includes the entire financial statements: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and ALL notes to Accounts - which is the main raw material that an analyst needs for making informed investment decisions
